1933
Where we started: The golden age of motorsport. The Monte Carlo Rally. The Mille Miglia. Our roots go back to when rallying meant great risk, endurance, and engineering under pressure. That spirit of pushing limits, managing the unknown and thriving on the open road has shaped everything we've built since.
1965
Moving what matters: We pioneered bulk container shipping in the UK, innovating how goods moved across distances. A different cargo to roof racks but carrying the same principle of building dependable systems that work when it counts. Decades of experience in logistics, weight distribution, and building reliable systems became the foundation for what we'd build next.
2000
Behind the wheel: A decade of competitive rallying across the UK and Europe. Over 40 starts in everything from Volkswagen Golfs to Peugeots, Renaults, Skodas, and Fords. We learnt what breaks, what holds, and what engineering actually means when the clock's running and the terrain won't forgive mistakes. Those years on stage taught us how tough our stuff needs to be.
2020
Into the Field: Prospeed was founded to serve the off-road community – expedition vehicles, overlanders, and those who needed equipment that could handle real terrain. Roof racks, accessories, and kit built for users who don't compromise. This is where our motorsport heritage met adventure.
2023
Scaling up: £2 million invested in machinery that changed everything. Our production capacity multiplied in tandem with quality, enabling precision-machined components to be produced with the utmost consistency. Aerospace-grade aluminium, patent-pending systems, and shipping innovations cut waste by 90%. This was the engineering foundation that would make FALKN possible. British precision combined with quality at scale.
2024
Engineering breakthrough: The Expedition system arrived. Precision-machined billet aluminium, patent-pending dual cross bar design, and a level of integration nobody had achieved before. Lightweight, rigid, and whisper-quiet at motorway speed. This was the rack that proved you didn't have to choose between capability and refinement. The platform that would become the foundation for everything that is FALKN.
2025
Falkn takes flight: Named after the Peregrine – agile, powerful, and beautiful, FALKN represents nearly a century of engineering brought to bear on one goal: enabling your adventure. British-made systems combine capability, beauty, and a level of dependability that could only have been earned through the trials of rallies, shipping routes, and countless miles off-grid. This is where our 90-years of experience finally lands.
